Better Late then Never!

Ok so i'm a little bit slow on the uptake of Tim's new 12 tags adventure.
But I got there in the end and here is my version.
All the details of how to make the tag are on Tim's blog HERE
I was lacking in the mini cupid so I used the large one, and had to replace honeycomb paper with plain old grungboard but I think I got away with it ok. I also used the wording from tim's paperstack and just gave it a coat of UTEE to make it shiny.
I'm quite looking forward to the next one now!

Put A Bird On It!

Ok own up.. who stole my week.
Was it you? I just don't know where it went.
But i'm back now with a double helping of arty goodness.
Firstly i'd like to share my offering for this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge
They have an 'animal' theme but not really having any animal stash
I opted to 'put a bird on it' {click for funny anecdote}
I covered the page with text then brushed over with permanent red & hansa yellow pan pastel.
I then stamped the border and small leaf vine in black, I masked the leaves and then stamped the larger leaf vine with phthalo green pan pastel so it gave a lovely muted effect, then coloured in the leaves with the same colour.
I did a bit of posca pen work on the leaves and border.
To finish I die cut the bird and cage in acetate, gave them a light sand and coloured with pan pastel, to really make the colour pop on the bird a stuck some text behind it. Then all that was left was to find a quote I liked which I punched out using my dymo label maker.
The reason i've used a ton of PP's on the project isn't just coz of the challenge, but coz i've been doing an Uber Media online workshop with the fab Nathalie. So i'm putting into practice all the things i'm learning.
Right if your still with me, I said there were 2 pieces of arty goodness and the second can be found HERE as it's the start of my week for the Snazzy's DT
Here's a sneak peek to try and coax you over for a better view x
Thanks for the visit

xX Happy Day of Love Xx

Just a quick post from me as I'll be spending a loved up day with my sweetie pie
But wanted to share the little gift I made him
This is also my entry for this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge as they have a 'Love & Romance' theme
I diecut a heart from card and coated it with phthalo green pan pastel, I then added a strip of dictionary paper and coated that too. I gave some grungboard wings a permanent red pp coat. Stamped a loving phrase and attached a couple of eyelets and copper wire.
Then I used some of the very cool crafty notions rusting powder from paper artsy {I am now an official member of the RustyArtyTarts} on a wood frame I have had for a while, left it over night to work it's magic, and in the morning I put a bit more text paper on the inside of the frame, gave it a smidge of rusty hinge ink all over and attached a little hook for my heart to hang from.
I just hope he likes it.. It's all very well being a crafter but sometimes trying to think up new and fun things for your other halves isn't always easy.
Right i'm off, catch ya again soon and I wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day x

Journal Play

I was sat being very unproductive so I got out my journal and just started to play.
The first thing I grabbed was my spiced marmalade distress stain, I covered the whole page, I then pulled out some cosmic shimmer drawing inks and started splatting them about, then out came the water spritzer, more drawing inks,
some pan pastels and stencils, distress ink and tools...When I was happy with the background I gave it a quick spray of hairspray {my cheap fixative} and finished it off with one of Lily's cool octopode stamps {I love this ickle kitty critter}, Then I remembered a cool 'play' quote, so I stamped that out with a set of mini alpha's, added it to the page and hay presto.
I'm entering this in the Simon Says stamp and Show challenge as they have an 'anything goes' theme this week.
Right I best crack on, gotta finish my valentines card for tomorrow!

WOYWW 140

Hello intrepid desk hoppers
Another wednesday falls upon us in the blink of an eye
But the only difference is today I have a nice messy{ish} desk
And that's because this little lot arrived yesterday!!!
I won all 12 sets of Tim's new stamps...i'm sorry if you know this already but i'm a tad excited to say the least.
And when you have new rubber you just gotta ink it up... after a bit of stroking first I must say.
So I set to work with the help of some ustream friends.
This tag is for the nutty Joyceeeeeee
Then I did one for the little pixie Kerri
This one was for wee Sarah
..and lastly one for Hannah.
All tags were made live on stream where the girls were giving me directions as to how they wanted their tags to look. I had a ball so thank you girls.. I have a feeling more tags will be made today!
After i've nosed round some desks first that it.

PP Play...

And no i'm not stuttering..
This is my entry for this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge
They have a 'happy birthday' theme

I used versamark through a stencil, then brushed the pan pastel all over the base card.
I stamped 'head' onto plain white card, as I did with the MME funday stamps, cut um all out and played till I found the layout you see b4 you.
Simples... But I like it.
What do you think?

TOFF # 32

This weeks Octopode Factory Challenge is
'SHADES OF GREY'
So I got out my copics and had a play and this is what developed.
The background is panpastels
and the wording I typed out on my ickle vintage typewriter.
This isn't at all what I set out to do but sometimes cards just make themselves and your just along for the ride.
{and b4 I get any smart arse comments, i'm speaking metaphorically.}
Right can't stop here nattering to you, i've things to do.

A Lovely Day Out!

Finally got around to uploading the few pics I took yesterday at the Craft 4 Crafter's show.
I started the day with a little primitive heart from scraps workshop
This is the back and the front as I ran out of time to join them together. And yes I know they look like a 5 year old made them.
Then I nipped by to say Hi to Snazzy's
They were lovely and we had a good old natter..B4 I knew it, it was time for another workshop
This time painted mirror with AliCrafts
This was everyone hard at work...
And this is my finished mirror.
So thank you Ali, I had alot of fun getting messy with the fresco's.
Then I had a little wander about and meet up with my good friend Wendy who I hadn't seen in ages.
And lastly I went and pestered Laura from the Artful Splodger
I did have a little spend treating myself some of timmy's gridblocks, a set of wendy vecci stamps, a couple of stampotique's oh and some nice fabric bits and bobs.
And apart from aching like a b**ch and been totally knackered at the end of the day it was a very pleasant day out.

A Day Out

I'm off out to the Craft 4 Crafters @ Westpoint Exeter today
Snazzy's are there so I thought it would be nice to go and meet the bosses in person.
And I made them a little something with my left over 7 Dot Studio stash
I covered a canvas with a 12x12 sheet of the 'dreamer' paper, then used the matching stickers to embellish it.
I stuck some of the stickers over old chipboard letters I had, then re cut them out again so they matched in with the project.
If your coming to the show and you see me, do say Hi
and Snazzy's are on stand 101.
If I remember the camera i'll try and take some pics.
Have a Great Day

February Is Upon Us!

Hay peeps..
Feb 1st can only mean 1 thing.. It's time to share this months 366 calendar page.
But first here is my finished January page
I must admit there were a couple of missed days...but all in all I am pretty chuffed with myself for finishing the whole month..  Here's hoping I make it through Feb just as well.
Here is the page I have to start with.
I know it's pretty cliché to go with hearts but it is the month of love what with Valentines day and it's my 7th anniversary {not married, just happily living in sin as they say lol} So I figured ah why not.
And another good reason is the artistic stamper challenge has a 'hearts' theme this month.
I was a good UIU girl for this page.. I dug out my unloved Slice Elite machine to cut all the hearts.
It's funny how you forget how useful something can be till you get it out to play again.
I put a wash of red as my base, and over stamped with a couple of Redlead statement stamps, then I stuck all my hearts in an organised random fashion
{meaning they look random but actually took me ages to get the right placement lol}
Then I just finished up with some doodling around each heart, the letters and the edge.
I may add to this page some more but for now I am pretty chuffed how it turned out.
I look forward to seeing everyone else's Feb pages.
